HULLBRIDGE SPORTS 2-2 ROVERS

Rovers faced a trip to local rivals Hullbridge Sports on a warm Tuesday night under the lights.

There were a few early chances in the game for both teams before Max Gnandi had a shot on target saved by the Hullbridge keeper. The opening goal for Hullbridge was scored after seventeen minutes when a throw in was flicked on in the box. There wasn't too many attempts on goal for either side but there was some goalmouth action at either end. Hullbridge hit the bar, whilst Jake Gordon and Connor Hart shot their attempts off target. Hullbridge went close again when their striker's effort shot straight at Shamshoum's face which rebounded back to their striker but was unable to guide it into the net.

As halftime approached, rovers thought they had leveled the score when Jake Gordon headed a cross into the Hullbridge goal but it was ruled out for offside.

HALFTIME: Hullbridge 1-0 Rovers

The second half began with Rovers on top. Around the hour mark, some of this possession was rewarded when Ben Search leveled the score and the Rovers were right back in the game. It looked like the points could go either way as both teams had share of the play. Rovers were on top but the score remained level and Hullbridge some play too and it still looked the points could go either way.

Rovers had a shot cleared off the line but it was the hosts who regained the lead when a free kick was palmed away by Shamshoum and a Hullbridge player forced the rebound home from close range three minutes into stoppage time.

However, the Rovers weren't done yet and just minutes after, substitute Jay Nash prodded home a cross from Ben Search and the teams were level to earn a point.
