ROVERS BACK TO WINNING WAYS AFTER DEFEATING FRENFORD

Rovers got back to winning ways ahead of their FA Vase semi final after comfortably beating Frenford on Tuesday night.

I the game couldn’t have started better for the Rovers when after five minutes, Harry Talbot was played down the wing and crossed the ball into the six yard box for debutant Dominic Locke to tap in.

Rover created numerous opportunities in the first half but couldn’t find that second to kill the game.

HALFTIME: FRENFORD 0-1 ROVERS

Rovers couldn’t have had a better start when Harry Talbot scored the Rovers second and WHAT. A. GOAL! Rovers played the ball into the wings of the pitch to stretch the Frenford defence and Ben Search pinged a brilliant pass to an unmarked Harry Talbot on just the inside of the area who took a touch and half volleyed a fantastic shot into the bottom right corner, giving the keeper no chance.

There wasn’t much to report for the next thirty minutes as Rovers did well keeping possession of the ball and playing off each other to tire their opponents out.

It wasn’t until fifteen minutes to go Rovers added their third of the game. The ball was passed around brilliant from the back to the midfield until the ball was released to Dominic Locke who crossed into the area which a Frenford defender cleared but the ball went straight to Ben Search on the edge of the eighteen yard box who smashed a first time shot into the bottom right corner.

Rovers saw out the remaining fifteen minutes with good spells of possession and some great piece of goalkeeping from Dan Blockley who pushed away five shots from Frenford to ensure the Rovers held on to come away with three points.
