Rovers boss grabs his 100th goal for the club

Rovers Player-Manager Dan Trenkel has finally hit his 100th goal for the club, scoring Rovers only goal in the 2-1 defeat at Enfield 1893.

Trenkel opened his account in his second appearance, but first start for the club, following his debut from the bench on the 4th April 2001. He grabbed two goals on his first start, a 3-2 win against Ipswich Wanderers in the East Anglian Cup 3rd round on the 18th April 2001. He would go on to score one further goal in his opening senior season with the club.

Trenkel's best season came in 2002-2003 when his 21 goals were scored froom his 49 games that season. He was playing alongside current team member Dave Collins and was also present on the same scoresheet, when both scored in Rovers 4-0 away win at Arlesy Town on the 5th April 2003 in the Isthmian League Division One North.

Of course, most will remember Trenkel's scoring feats from scoring all of Rovers 5 goals in our 6-5 home defeat to Potters Bar on the 20th November 2010 in the Ryman One North.

His 100th goal also draws him level with Mark Hampshire in 2nd place in the All-Time scorers chart, but some way from top scorer Paul Flack who sit's pretty on 187 goals from his 369 appearances.
