Knee injury rules out influencial midfielder

Rovers player-manager Dan Trenkel is out of the side for the foreseable future are straining his medial ligament in his knee. After a routine block tackle in Rovers 7-2 defeat of Eton Manor last weekend, Trenks will sit out for a short while until the extent of the injury is known.

Trenkel admitted "it's a common incident for that type of injury to occur. I've been to see the Duck (Jim Johnson - physio) and in the first week its hard to tell how bad the injury is but he is hoping I haven't actually torn the ligament, rather just strained it. I did the exact same injury back in 2009 (a grade 2 tear) and was out for a total of 7 weeks under Cleve Taylor's guidance. I'm hoping that it isn't as serious as that I'm back playing soon, but it's not something to rush".

After being asked about possible replacements he stated "It's a shame to be injured but we have Julian Simon-Parson, James Pugsley and Ty Benjamin ready and waiting. Ty is just back from holiday so we do have plenty of options and I'm confident in the players we have."
