Rovers Manager Dan Trenkel gives his views on the Harlow Town match

I was delighted overall with the effort and work rate of all the players. Defensively we looked so much more solid than our goals against record suggests and we are starting to build a great togetherness in the squad.

Adam Holmes came in and had a very steady game as I would expect of him, and I was really impressed with Tony Jacobs and feel he can be a great asset to us in the coming weeks.

Harlow are one of the best sides in this division and they did have a lot of territorial advantage, but I thought we really coped well and don’t think we are too far away from where we want to be.
We still need to work on taking chances, and I think sooner or later someone is going to take a hiding off us.

The first two games in charge have been a big confidence boost to the players but they can’t rest on their laurels now. We really have to start putting a string of performances together so we can move up the table. Tilbury and Maldon away , and Grays at home over the Christmas period is probably the toughest schedule of all the teams in the division, but we have nothing to fear now from anyone and will go into all 3 games looking to get some more points on the board.
