Trenkel makes key signings

The club are delighted to announce the signings of Gary Paterson, Jay Smith and Adam Seal from local rivals Southend Manor.

Manager Dan Trenkel has moved quickly to secure the players for next season as he attempts to go better than the 4th place of last season.

Paterson, 24, played for Hullbridge Sports before joining Manor, scoring 32 goals in 52 appearances for them including a goal in both matches against Rovers last season.

Jay Smith has previously played for Rovers, making 2 appearances at the start of the 2008/2009 season. The 26 year old made 154 appearances for Manor, scoring 21 times and last season was the club captain.

The final signing is experienced goalkeeper Adam Seal. Adam, 27, has made 268 appearances for Southend Manor and has Ryman Premier experience with Thurrock last season.

Dan Trenkel commented on the new signings.
"We identified areas where we needed strengthening and competition and these players were high on our list of priorities. Gary is a big powerful striker and what I like about him is that he shoots on sight and rarely misses the target. I've got no doubt he will score plenty of goals in our side. Jay is well known to us and we made a 7 day approach for him during last season. Every time I've seen him play I've been impressed with his energy and the way he makes a team tick and the way we want to play football he will fit in perfectly. With Adam I've seen him play for quite a few years and again always been impressed with how he commands his defence and his penalty area. He's not afraid to get stuck in and it will be a good battle between him and Louis during pre season to try and get that shirt. Getting these 3 players were important for us and we are delighted to welcome them to the club".
