Rovers defeated Eton Manor in the Essex Senior League Cup via the penalty spot after a thrilling game which ended 3-3 after extra time on Tuesday night.

After defeating Clacton via the same method in the previous round, manager Dan Trenkel changed his starting eleven from those that won 6-1 against Eton Manor in the league on Saturday, giving some players the night off.

However, with Eton Manor also changing things around it was to be an entertaining evening at Burroughs Park, with Rovers keeper Dale Brightly the hero, saving two penalties to see Rovers safely through 3-2.
