Tired Rovers fall to defeat in final fixture

Barely 40 hours after playing Bowers on Thursday night, Rovers were on the road again to face Barking in their final fixture. On an awful playing surface which resembled a car park and with all 4 seasons of weather turning up it made life difficult for both sides.
Rovers had the better chances of the first half , Dan Trenkel striking the inside of the post, and then having a perfectly good goal disallowed. Danny Heale also went close when his header was well saved at point blank range and the home side were indebted to their keeper again when Stuart Hepburn's header was clawed away from the top corner.

Barking took the lead against the run of play in the second half and some shocking refereeing decisions led to the play being halted more often than not. Both sides struggled to come to terms with the referees display as he consistently baffled everyone in the ground.
Rovers levelled on 65 minutes when Ash Hawkins diverted Billy Radley's shot in via the crossbar.
Again Rovers were denied a perfectly good goal when Nick Skelton headed home, the referee spotting a non existent foul, and then Skelton was denied by an unbelievable save from a left foot volley.

Rovers were dealt a blow with 15 minutes to go when having used 3 subs already , Skelton was forced off with injury. The 10 men of Wakering worked hard but ultimately the effects of playing 2 games in 3 days meant that tiredness kicked in which allowed Barking to score in injury time to claim the win.
