On a blustery afternoon at North Road, Rovers succumbed to a late goal, ending hopes of a well earned replay.
Despite Regent having the better possession throughout the match, Rovers continued to look dangerous on the break. Belcher did well early on to tip a shot onto the bar and out for a corner, as the ball got held up in the wind. Rovers Liam Nash crashed a free kick against the base of the post to give Regent a wake up call.
The breakthrough came to Rovers. The ball played out to the left, where Kris Newby cut inside and put a cross into the box. Unfortunately for Regent keeper and ex-Rover Ollie Bowles, the wind again played it's part, pushing the ball towards the goal, only for Bowles to let the ball slip between his hands.
Regent gained parity five minutes later, Aaron Condon taking advantage of some poor marking to fire the ball past Matt Belcher.
In a busy second half, Regent had the better possession in the Rovers half although Nash, Gordon and Newby continued to plug away on the break. Sadly for Rovers, as they played out time towards the end of the game, the ball was played into the box where Tom Richardson missed his first attempt but managed to spin around prod home the winner.
