Rovers were the latest side to come away from Tilbury empty-handed, as they were comprehensively beaten 4-0.
A familiar face came back to haunt Rovers, with former player Neil Richmond getting a hat-trick, plus a goal from Emiel Aiken.
After a difficult end to 2015, in which Rovers won just one of the last 10 matches they played, they were looking for an improvement at the start of this year.
But they got off to a difficult start. Richmond scored after just six minutes, with Aiken doubling that advantage 10 minutes later.
Both sides came close to getting the next goal, with Billy Johnson almost getting a goal back, having scored at Chadfields in a 3-1 win in the League Cup earlier in the season.
Bradley Vaughan went off shortly before the break, in what was a blow to Rovers who have struggled defensively recently.
But it wasn’t to be, as Richmond added goals on 65 and 89 minutes to condemn Wakering and manager Gary Ansell to defeat.
The last time Rovers have failed to score three games in a row was back in 2012, as Dan Trenkel's side failed to register against Brentwood (0-2), Heybridge (0-0) and Chatham Town (0-1).
