AWAY WIN JOY FOR ROVERS.

Great Wakering Rovers travelled to Mildenhall Town on Saturday looking to take 3pts from the Suffolk outfit and confirm their Bostic North status for next season.
Shamari Barnwell opened the scoring on the 17th minute, and although both teams had chances it stayed one nil to Rovers as the first half came to a close

Rovers always looked more likely to take the game beyond Mildenhall and it was Barnwell who got his and Wakering’s second on the 64thminute to give the Green boys some breathing space.
It wasn’t all plane sailing for the visitors as Marc Gorbell was sent to the stands with ten minutes to play picking up his second yellow of the game, however any chance of a Mildenhall comeback was quashed when on the 84th minute Barnwell grabbed his hat trick.
The win confirms Bostic North football for Rovers next season, after the game interim manger Stephen Butterworth said “I didn’t expect us to come close to going down with the players we brought in, if we had this team from the start of the season then we would be in the top half of the table”.
