We are not in FA Cup action this weekend after we were knocked out at the first time of asking by underdogs Brantham Athletic.
But a win against Romford will see us finish the day in at least fourth position in the standings after a victory at Heybridge Swifts on Tuesday.
However, as our FA Cup defeat demonstrated, we have struggled when the weight of expectation is on our shoulders and we will be favourites against Romford, who are currently in 19th position and without an away win to their name so far this term.
Manager:
Rovers manager Dan Trenkel said: “I have absolutely told the players that, for a rare game, we will be favourites in my mind, and that they now have to perform with expectation on their shoulders rather than being an underdog.
“We have plenty of quality which I think on a normal day should be too much for them and I expect us to beat them if we perform to anywhere near our top level.
“If we win we are guaranteed fourth place by tomorrow night and that is a huge incentive. I couldn't care less about games in hand, it's points on the board that matter and we are playing well enough to deserve being mentioned with those top sides.”
Team News:
John-Joe Slater and Lewis Sparrow are away, Max Kent will have a fitness test (knee). George Artemi, Nick Skelton and John Bradley will all resume full training with the team next Tuesday. Joe Skeels has left the club, and is likely to join Burnham Ramblers on a permanent basis.
