Experienced forward eligible to face Dereham Town tomorrow.....

Jamie Guy, 29, signed with Rovers today and is available for selection for tomorrow's home game against Dereham Town.

Guy signed for Colchester United as a 17 year old and was sent on loan to Tiptree, Gravesend, Cambridge Utd, Oxford Utd, Dagenham & Redbridge and Port Vale, before signing for Grays Athletic where he scored 3 goals in 15 appearances.
Braintree Town was his next stop, where he found the net 9 times in 26 appearances. In 2013 he signed for Maldon & Tiptree and scored 16 goals in 30 games his best return to date.

Since 2013 he has played for Needham Market, Bishops Stortford, Grays Athletic, Witham, Harlow, Brentwood and Billericay, before signing for Heybridge Swifts in 2016 and then onto VCD Athletic where he remains top scorer this season with 11 goals.

Manager Keith Wilson stated "Jamie is a player I've tried to ssign a few times before but never managed to get it over the line. Once I saw he had left VCD, I chanced my arm and thankfully we could agree the deal. His experience and quality will help both on and off the pitch and I can't wait to see him in the green and white stripes of Great Wakering Rovers"

All at Rovers wish Jamie the very best during his time at the club.

In other news, defender John Easterford has left the club to join Basildon United. Wilson commented that "it was by mutual agreement as John wasn't enjoying life at the club. I wish him all the very best".
