Rovers Appoint New Under-21 Manager....
Steve Southgate to manage Rovers development side.
Rovers have appointed experienced coach Steve Southgate as manager of the under-21's development side.
The purpose of the under-21's is to develop players for the first team, with the under-18's and under-16's feeding into the side.
There have been a number of players making appearances for the first team, notably Ollie Woodhouse, Jack Deasy, Reese Price and Aaron Clarke appearing for the first team in their 2-2 draw away at Bowers & Pitsea on Tuesday evening. The side also had some under-18 players as first team manager Dan Trenkel used the match to give first team players a game off in readiness for the start of the Ryman League this coming Saturday, but also give him the opportunity to view some of the young players himself.
Under-21 Manager Steve Southgate stated "Having been at the Bowers & Pitsea match myself, I saw that the future is definitely bright for the club as the youngsters competed well against established Essex Senior level players"
