Rovers Support Youth Coaches with internal Coaching Evening

On a wet and windy Thursday evening Rovers put on an internal club training evening for 20+ Colts Managers and Coaches.

The session led by 1st team Coach Rob Polkinghorn was provided to support the clubs Youth Managers/ Coaches with the development of their teams to ensure each individual can fulfil their potential. The aim of Rovers is to create a pathway not just for the players within the Colts teams but also to support the Managers/ coaches to progress within the club into Alliance but also the U21's and hopefully the 1st team.

The Managers received an introduction from Rob with a presentation on coaching sessions followed by a light hearted practical training session on the clubs floodlight training facilities followed by a question & answers session with Rob.

Also discussions were held on dealing with Youth/ Parents and to provide appreciation of the importance in respecting the games officials as well.

This was followed by Berny Blunt the clubs former Alliance guru and County Manager to explain his expectations of the Alliance set up through the Eastern Junior Alliance league.

Finally the evening was finished with a brief speech from the clubs new Technical Director (U18's manager and 21's) Tom Harding on how he views the future of the club and the need to seek a continuous flow of players/ teams from within the Great Wakering Colts YFC set up.

This was the 1st of what will be many internal club sessions helping the Managers/ Coaches to improve on what they can provide for the players through the coming season. The next session is planned for the 10th December 2015.

The Future is Green, the Future is Youth.
